End of Day Summary

Day 1 of the Bodog sponsored Waterford Open started at 7:30 sharp with 141 being the final number of players who entered this prestigious event which brought the final prizepool to just over €70k with prizemoney to be allocated tomorrow.

As always with well structured events, we witnessed a cagey start to the days play with our first elimination nearly taking 2 hours to come about. Local man Keith Nolan was the first man to bite the dust, probably in the hope that he could spend some time with the lovely Bodog girls and another 29 had followed him out the door by time play had ended at 3am.

There were plenty of players to keep an eye out on with Bodog Sponsored player, Brian O'Keefe being one of numerous players who were constantly on the reporting team of Adam Murphy and Mick Doran's radar!

A mere 112 players make it to Day 2 with Simon McHechie being the monstrous chipleader. To put things into perspective, the average stack going into tomorrow is 18,883! I know this is early stages yet, and I'll admit that anything can happen in poker, but surely the smart money is on this man! He's almost unstopable!

Don't forget to join the Bodog Reporting team tomorrow who'll be following all the action with their notebooks and cameras and posting from the spacious Bodog Lounge which is located just outside the tournament area. Comfy couches and Bodog Girls are but some of the things which await players when they want to relax or take a break the chaos inside!
